why is it easier to love all the girls that ain't yours? they make you feel different, you tell them you think they are beautiful and you turn them to poems, you put them in the words of your songs and all of these men that keep telling me they love me so much they put me in boxes and make me into the thing that they need but if you taught me anything I learned that is no way to be so what is your truth what does it mean is there a consequence for the things you've seen and it's gonna be a long long time before you can feel all right so what do you have to say for yourself what kind of excuse can you make this time this time I'm not listening so what is your truth what does it mean oh there's been a consequence for all the shit you've seen and I was a fool after all of these years thought you were a good man thought you were a better man why is it easier to love all the girls that ain't yours they make you feel different, you tell them you think they are beautiful and you keep them like secrets and make them into the thing that you need

tell me everything that you remember none of the stories seem quite complete and in my arms you become the confessor spilling the secrets you once meant to keep somehow we're still children to all of these demons all of the wreckage attached to our backs nobody notices the glaring omissions they are still blaming us and we still react so don't tell me to go home there is no longer anything there for me now I got nowhere to go somebody find me, somebody find me out tell me everything that you remember none of the stories seem quite complete and in my arms you've become the confessor spilling the secrets you once meant to keep sometimes when you go away you become a thing I cannot place trying to phrase stories that were never mine the autobiographies right behind your eyes so don't try to get me to talk there's no right way to reveal myself you've always wanted the key to the lock the weight of my shame is starting to bury me

Wasteland 03:53
do you know me now can you find me here stuck out in the wasteland of april clinging to the rain
4.
this is where it begins for me, I don't get no chance to say where we'll be ending up don't get no chance to say where you'll be taking me I forget all of my past lives time keeps on ticking and I can't keep staying away cause you speed and speed faster than light you're not gonna wait for me to decide is it a choice that I gotta make or is it just not right this is where it begins for me, I don't get no chance to be myself with you away from me don't get no chance to be who I always thought I'd be did you forget all of my past lives and she's got you thinking that she is your only way out oh we're stuck in safe houses with locks on the doors how was I supposed to know it was not like before cause you scream and scream inside your head maybe my silence was what put you into her bed
5.
The Song 02:59
I've got a song in my teeth you've got a taste for nostalgia I can't control feels like I'm losing the beat seems like you're losing the count counting back to now all I wanna do is hear your voice screaming, screaming all I wanna hear forever is your voice screaming it's not so bad if you cover up the mirrors if you need some help forgetting turn off all the sounds of the songs I've always hated to lie I think you really enjoy pretending you're not I'm dealing well enough I think it's really a game we've been playing all I wanna know is you're thinking about me thinking about you, thinking about me all I wanna say is I'm thinking about you too some of us are stuck behind a doubt caught beneath a presence we can't shake I'm sorry that I didn't get us out sorry I couldn't help you out
6.
Please Hold 03:51
what was it that you wanted? lord knows how much I love to make the same mistakes again if I tell you that I'm sorry it just gets stacked on top of all the other sorrys that I've said please help me dig my way out we've spent so long inside this dead poet's wasteland we never even signed up to see the map of our pain will take shape if we can only get out far enough to breathe but there's a clock that keeps ticking and my heart might explode and my hands they keep shaking cause there's nothing to hold onto so just stay with me forever this ain't the way that things have to be once I figure out the truth I'm gonna scream it cause sure as shit no one's gonna speak up for me
7.
writing out your mysteries delirious with fever dreams oh, the way you look at me like there's so much underneath Aureliano who could never love a woman even after she was dead and buried just wishing for a weary rain-soaked love he said I noticed your eyes are always changing color I said that's not the only thing that's changing I'm taking the poems from my vagrant's trunk to let you read them all the things you've said to me they cannot compete with imaginary lovers that I could meet cause you read what I mean in the silence of my sleep the warmth of your body is a steady thing in the fear and the beauty of my secret dreams
